How to make a video

Lights

Get outside ideally not in the middle of the day.. look for a shadow to stand in so the light can be more even. or make sure you are facing the sun so the light is on your face.

Inside, look for a big window and put the camera parallel to the window or from the window towards you.  If that is not an option look for the place with even light  avoid a bright light specifically behind you or directly above you.

Camera

Your phone is great at video, here are a few quick tips,
if you have a tripod or can prop it up so it is stable or even have a friend hold it as still as they can for you.
keep the light on your phone off.
try to stay at eye level and look into the camera when you can.
stay close, elbows and up is a great engaging look this is typically 4-5 feet away for most cameras if you have a zoom you can get back further but audio might not be as good.

Environment

Simple settings are less distracting, outside is generally easy, but places without much going on, not a lot on the wall or visual distractions.  This is subjective but look at where you will be and think if the environment is "busy"

Audio

Speak up, talk a little louder then you might normally.
Turn off as much other noise as you can: tv, radio, fans or AC (just for a minute.) Stop and listen before you begin. Is there anything else you can turn else off?
If your environment is loud, it would be best to find somewhere else.

Wardrobe

Wear solid colors, and avoid text on shirts. If it's your favorite shirt, we will get over it.

Action

Run through what you want to say a few times. It helps to say it out loud though.
Have fun!  We want to see you and your personality, not just a perfect video, Relax....
YOU ARE GREAT!!!!
