work by Jack Potts
This exhibit echoes the total loss and found hope, experienced by Jack Potts in the aftermath of the December 20, 2022, Winter Street Fire. The studio Jack had loved and built over the course of 7 years, was now completely incinerated by an arsonist to cover theft. To worsen the act, it was committed by someone Jack considered a close friend, who was struggling with mental health issues. Studio C7 in Winter Street Studios became ground zero in the now infamous fire that devastated nearly 100 artists and destroyed a large portion of the studios. Jack has been forced to rebuild; left only with his dedication to his art, hope, and kindness of others. He lost a professional lifetime of work, equipment & memories that left him, and his studio, EMPTY.
